We are seeking a talented epidemiologist/biostatistician, with a relevant PhD (or MSc and equivalent research experience), a keen interest in using metabolomics data in epidemiological studies to explore their causal role and/or ability to accurately predict risk in reproductive, perinatal or cardiometabolic health, and a systematic and thorough approach to their work. The successful applicant will work within Professor Deborah Lawlor’s programme in the MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit at the University of Bristol. This would be ideally suited to someone with a PhD who has some experience of analysing multidimensional multiscale data in large human population studies.
The post will be appointed at Research Associate (Level a) or Senior Research Associate (Level b) level depending on the qualifications and experience of the people offered the posts.
The MRC Integrative Epidemiology Unit (http://www.bristol.ac.uk/integrative-epidemiology/) at the University of Bristol (MRC IEU) integrates molecular, cellular, clinical and population data to optimise the identification of causal effects of potentially modifiable exposures/risk factors on disease or health-related outcomes. It adopts a multidisciplinary approach to address issues of major public health and clinical relevance to the UK and global health agenda, drawing upon expertise in disciplines such as chemistry, econometrics, artificial intelligence and computer science, who have not traditionally worked closely with epidemiologists. The Unit currently consists of 6 linked programmes, including one led by DA Lawlor on reproductive and cardio-metabolic health that this post with be linked to.
