ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT II, School of Engineering (SoE)-New Engineering Education Transformation (NEET), to provide efficient, seamless and collegial administrative and financial support for the NEET initiative. Will perform a variety of complex and diverse duties and report to the executive director.  The first NEET pilot was launched by the School of Engineering in Fall 2017 and it is already seeing unprecedented growth and visibility. The position is ideal for self-starter who can take charge and is comfortable working in a start-up environment and will view her/his focus as helping to grow and develop the fledgling NEET community of students, staff, faculty, researchers and industry.  

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; a minimum of three years of secretarial, office, or related experience, preferably in a university setting similar to that at MIT; excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills; ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty and with others at all levels, both within and outside MIT; excellent calendaring skills and ability to manage calendars and schedule diverse and complex meetings and appointments; ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, problem solve, work both independently and as part of a team, and anticipate and initiate actions regarding office operations; initiative; flexibility; attention to detail; proficiency with Microsoft Office, SAP, FileMaker Pro, Cognos and Atlas; comfort with both PCs and Macs; experience with arranging travel, paying invoices, ordering supplies, account reconciliations, and maintaining offices and expense reimbursements; discretion and good judgment with confidential information/issues.  Bachelor’s degree and extensive MIT experience preferred.  Job #16705-5
