The School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences includes the professional disciplines of Audiology, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech Pathology. Our research is recognised as world-class and our approach is interdisciplinary, with ongoing collaboration across these disciplines to ensure the best possible research outcomes. The role

The successful appointee will be a researcher in the NHMRC Centre of Research Excellence in Aphasia Recovery and Rehabilitation working on neuroimaging-based predictors of aphasia recovery and treatment response. In addition to working collaboratively on NHMRC funded projects, the appointee will be encouraged to develop their own research projects, apply for research funding, and supervise honours, masters and doctoral students.

The person

Applicants should possess a PhD in Speech Pathology, Language or Cognitive Neuroscience or a related discipline. You should also have a strong desire to develop a successful and highly-productive research career in the field of aphasia rehabilitation, have excellent neuroimaging and writing skills and the capacity to work with large multidisciplinary research teams.

The candidate will meet all immunization requirements for interacting in Qld Health. It is a condition of employment for this role that you will be required to provide evidence of immunisation against certain vaccine preventable diseases.

Remuneration

This is a part-time (0.5FTE) fixed term appointment for 4 years at Academic Level B. The remuneration package will be in the range $93,985.59-$111,607.58 FTE p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of up to 17% (total package will be in the range $109,963.14 - $130,580.86 FTE p.a.).
