An excellent opportunity has become available within the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering for a Department Administrator on a part-time contract (0.4 FTE) for 14.4 hours per week covering weekday afternoons (to be negotiated) and Monday. A pro-active, self-motivated and highly organised individual is required to provide professional administrative support to the Head of Department, academic and research staff within the Department.

Possessing excellent verbal and written communication skills, you will have previous experience of working in an administrative environment and ideally experience of working in the Higher Education Sector.
You will demonstrate excellent IT skills and the ability to work on your own initiative and under pressure. Excellent inter-personal skills and a flexible approach are essential together with accuracy and a keen eye for detail.
The Department Administrator will provide support to the academic and research staff in the Department and manage enquiries and resource information effectively. The candidate will also provide support to the Surrey/ICE Scholarship coordinator and assist with the administrative function of the Surrey/ICE Scholarship scheme.
