This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious graduate with the ability and confidence to manage a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) project with INOV-8 UK and Descente.  

The University of Manchester and INOV-8 are looking to recruit a Materials Engineer to undertake this 36 month project which has an overall aim of developing nanocomposite materials for sportswear applications.

The position will provide the you with a unique opportunity to work with state of the art developments in polymer nanocomposites, as well as in the design and development of sports apparel.

You  will have a post-graduate Degree (or equivalent) in Materials Science, Textile Technology, Engineering, Chemistry or related disciplines. Additional research or industry experience in polymer-graphene nanocomposites, processing textiles with surface treatments/finishes/coatings for waterproof and breathable membrane technology is desirable. A passion for sports would be useful and would assist in your integration into the Company.  

The KTP role is intended as a stepping stone to a permanent opportunity of employment at INOV-8 Ltd and Descente Ltd.

This post is funded through a Knowledge Transfer Partnership (KTP) award, a UK Government scheme intended to promote sustained and mutually beneficial relationships between universities and industry. 

Based at INOV-8 in Staveley, Cumbria, you will work directly with supervisors from both the University and INOV-8/Descente and will use the facilities and resources of both organisations.
