Job Description

Occupational Summary:

Design, plan and coordinate activities aimed at engagement and retention of donors at the annual,leadership and special giving levels ($1-$99,999) with emphasis on growing and enhancing the first time donor program for units across Duke Health Alumni and Development, as well as growing donors at all levels of this pipeline.Serve as leader in bringing units together to develop a comprehensive strategy that focuses on innovative and best practices. Reporting to the Senior Executive Director of Engagement, this position will serve as a key partner in enhanced engagement strategies that are developed across DHDAA.

Work Performed:

Engagement & Stewardship – 40%

  • Collaborate with all units to ensure engagement and stewardship activities for these level donors are consistent and successful.
  • Mutually develop goals and develop an integrated plan that includes verbal, written and digital activities.Work with DHDAA leadership and Senior Executive Director to create a philanthropic presence in the hospital system,which may include working with volunteer committees, developing educational and engagement materials, and developing strong relationships with donors.

Project Execution – 40%

  • Design, plan and coordinate engagement and stewardship activities,which include both written and digital assets and create partnerships with vendors when needed for timely execution of materials.
  • Partner with DHDAA donor relations team for seamless integration of activities for donors at all levels of the pipeline.Utilize sound project management methodology to effectively on board donors and post-implementation initiatives,documenting project plans to ensure deliverable stay on target and that visibility to progress is maintained.

Analytics – 20%

  • Develop proficiency in all areas of Sales force in order to develop engagement strategies to measure success.
  • Work with system administrator to create analytics to support program.Work closely with gift processing teams in DHDAA and Duke University to ensure activities are coordinated, monitored,and measured and interwoven with all engagement and stewardship programs.Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION/TRAINING

Work requires communications, analytical and organizational skills generally acquired through completion of a Bachelor's degree program.

EXPERIENCE

Work requires ability to design, plan and coordinate fund raising activities and special events generally acquired through two years experience.OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

SKILLS

Strong written, editing, and verbal communication skills and comfortable speaking on the phone with donors.Solid problem solving, organization and prioritization skills.Eagerness to work as part of a team,especially in a supportive role, to expand the donor base and visibility of Duke Health engagement activities.Demonstrate ability to effectively manage multiple projects and deadlines at one time.High level of initiative and desire to meet specific goals.
