Governance and Risk Management
The Governance and Risk Management Division provides consolidated leadership, strategic direction, management and expertise to enable effective and efficient governance and risk management across the University. The Division is responsible for the development and management of the University’s enterprise-wide governance, risk management, compliance and procurement frameworks and processes, facilitating their adoption, and providing assurance on their effectiveness.
There are two Procurement Manager roles available, each with a specific focus. The Procurement Manager (Category Management) is responsible for the practical implementation of category management at UQ, and will also be responsible for the supervision of a core procurement advice and service team.
The Procurement Manager (Governance) is responsible for the collaborative delivery of best procurement practice by UQ, ensuring the delivery of compliance with UQ policies and related regulatory framework. The role is also responsible for the supervision of a small team with a reporting and governance focus.
These roles will work closely together to leverage opportunities for development and improvement for UQ. They are expected to support and collaborate with each other, and a network of procurement professionals across UQ.
These positions require graduate level qualifications in a relevant discipline (preferable Law, Commerce or Business) with subsequent relevant experience or equivalent. The successful incumbents will demonstrate a record of leadership and significant experience in a strategic or management role within a complex environment.
Within the Category Management field, highly developed analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify opportunities and subsequently develop strategies based on this analysis is required along with expert knowledge of commercial procurement practices including category management and strategic procurement with an awareness of commercial law and contract management.
Within the Governance field, a demonstration of extensive experience in data analytics including the analysis of complex data sets in addition to policy and procedures is required along with knowledge of commercial procurement practices and policy including strategic procurement.

These are full-time, continuing positions at HEW Level 9. The remuneration package will be in the range $ 110,986.34 - $ 117,446.89 p.a., plus employer superannuation contributions of 17% (total package will be in the range $129,854.01 - $137,412.86 p.a.).
