Lecturer - iOS
The Department of Computer Science at the University of Chicago seeks qualified lecturers for the 2018/19 school year to teach an iOS Application Development class for the Masters Program in Computer Science (http://csmasters.uchicago.edu/).
The iOS Application Development class provides a hands-on, highly applied introduction to developing mobile apps with iOS. This course has been taught multiple times in the program and, while past offerings of the class may serve as a reference, instructors are expected to refresh course materials each year, including preparing new coursework for a new offering of the class. The syllabus of the latest offering of this class can be found at https://mpcs-courses.cs.uchicago.edu/2017-18/winter/courses/51030
Courses are held for three hours one evening per week for ten weeks during each academic quarter, with the eleventh week for a final project or exam.
Applicants will be evaluated on teaching skills and command of specific course content. Applicants must have completed a Master's degree in Computer Science or have equivalent professional experience in the specific course areas. Applicants with a PhD in Computer Science or experience in teaching at the university level will be given preferred consideration.
This position is part-time and is not benefits eligible. Applicants must currently be authorized to work permanently in the U.S.
Applicants must apply on-line at the University of Chicago Academic Careers website at https://tinyurl.com/mpcs18-iOS.
Applicants must upload a curriculum vitae, a cover letter describing technical and teaching experience, and a list of three references.
Optionally, applicants may upload a draft syllabus for an iOS course they could teach.
