Position for a Research Specialist A lab manager/technician is available for experimental research as well as management of a laboratory. The position will involve working with a wide variety of biological techniques in both cell culture and mouse models. This position requires conducting experimental research involving studies on the function of various tumor suppressor genes, oncogenes, and signaling pathways in regulating cell proliferation and cell death. The research will be conducted using a range of cell and molecular biology techniques and mouse models. Management of the laboratory involves ordering supplies, keeping inventories for various experimental reagents, maintenance of the laboratory. In addition, the position is expected to assist PI with completing the regulatory procedures involving bio-safety, mouse protocols, and scheduling lab activities and recruitment of new personnel.

A Bachelor’s degree and 0 to 1 year of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. The applicant should have a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Cell and Molecular Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, or other related field, and some laboratory based experience in cell culture, western blotting, PCR, and/or mouse models is preferred. The candidate must also possess strong communication and organizational skills as well as basic computer skills.
