Assist and perform auxiliary procedures for specialty related dental services. Candidate must possess advanced knowledge of systems and procedures associated with one or more specialties in orthodontics or periodontics and oral surgery. Experience with 3D imaging including image capture techniques and proficient with patient management software and EHR. A minimum of 5 years working knowledge of systems, products and techniques associated with specialty dental care procedures is required.

Orthodontic dental assistant must be knowledgeable of bracket systems, possess bonding technique experience, and be proficient in Invisalign treatment. Intra-oral digital scanning experience is required. Preparation, placement and positioning of fixed braces. Fitting orthodontic appliances (Ex. Expanders) and fitting bands. Bonding invisalign attachments, and taking digitized impressions. Taking Orthodontic records (pan, ceph, photos). Ability to do wire adjustments. Ability to do Bracket removal and adhesive removal. Ability to Fabricate essix retainers. Ability to place, repair, and remove bonded mandibular lingual retainers. These are among the core skill-set being sought for advanced Orthodontic Assistant.

Periodontal and Oral Surgery assistant must be knowledgeable of implant systems and possess advanced assisting skills in surgical procedures associated with periodontal and oral surgery. Candidate must possess a knowledge of nomenclature and treatments associated with periodontal and oral surgery and a minimum of 5 years experience directly in specialty care dentistry.

Technical School, Certification, training or apprenticeship required beyond High School and 5 years of related experience in specialty dental office setting or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.

Working Knowledge of approved hygiene functions
Strong communications and customer service skills
Working knowledge of approved Dental Assistant functions
EFDA Certificate, and X-Ray license and a CPR license-a plus
Possess a strong commitment to patient care, patient health and quality work
