We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic researcher to work on EU Horizon projects in the areas of peacebuilding, and border/airport security. The projects GAP and TRESSPASS are concerned respectively with 1) the design, development, and evaluation of an interactive game for the training of peacekeeping personnel, and 2) carrying out research into the role of technology to facilitate risk-based border crossing points ensuring increased security as well as maintaining the free-flow of people and vehicles across borders in the EU. Maynooth's role in both of these projects is to provide expertise on the human factors and cultural/societal issues associated with the design of technology for everyday operations and includes empirical data collection, analysis, requirements definition and evaluation, in a way that constructively informs the design, development and implementation of the technologies.

The successful candidate may also be asked to contribute to the teaching activities within the department corresponding to their interests, knowledge, and experience.

Research Assistant Level 2 Salary Scale: €29,540 - €34,612 per annum (7 points)

Appointment will be made in accordance with the Department of Finance pay guidelines.

*New entrants to the public sector will be appointed on the first point of the above scale.
