Vacancy: Head of IT Operations 
Reporting to the IT Director you will have a direct impact on the student and staff experience, with a focus on leading the strategic planning, development and management of all aspects of IT Operations within the University. You will be responsible for delivering first class resilient, accessible, fit for purpose and customer-centric services to the University whilst monitoring performance, driving improvement initiatives and managing the development of the people and processes that support this function.

Your role will be to lead the Infrastructure and Support teams to effectively manage the University’s Network Infrastructure, Data Centre and Server estate as well as all aspects of Information Security. You will be responsible for Service Continuity and Disaster Recovery planning as well as overseeing the delivery of high quality support services to all service users through a Service Management framework.

You will need to be technically experienced in the management of server technologies & hypervisors, desktop infrastructure, cloud services, system management tools and broader data centre and communications services with a focus on service performance and availability.

Personal Profile
You will be a highly credible IT leader with a passion for continuous improvement and a capability for delivering change across a complex organisation. Whilst you have strategic vision and a long-range view, you are exceptionally strong at specifying and delivering significant system solution upgrades/changes to deliver rapid outcomes.

Your leadership experience in a service delivery environment has given you an exceptional skill in managing complex operations with a diverse mix of stakeholders to deliver IT improvements through effective system and process management. You understand the central nature of people in successful change management by demonstrating a collaborative, inclusive and communicative style that effectively navigates the sensitive nature of fast changing businesses.
