Emergency Medicine Physician - International Medical Education Scholar
The University of Chicago's Department of Medicine, Section of Emergency Medicine, seeks International Medical Education Scholars for a two year term. These positions offer protected time for professional development while working clinically as an attending in our emergency department at reduced effort, and up to five months per year of international field time. The University of Chicago Medicine is an Adult and Pediatric Trauma Center, a receiving hospital for STEMI, a Comprehensive Stroke Center, a Burn Center, and a Chicago South EMS regional resource hospital. The Adult ED has an annual volume of 70,000 and our Pediatric ED cares for 30,000 patients per year. We especially welcome applicants with an interest in International Emergency Medicine and Medical Education development, and in developing emergency care and Emergency Medicine training programs in low-income countries. Appointment would be as full-time Clinical Associate but with activities described above.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in Emergency Medicine.
