The University of Chicago's Department of Pediatrics, Section of Critical Care seeks a Clinical Associate at full-time effort for a renewable one year term. Clinical responsibilities will include providing a complete range of general and specialized cardiac critical care services for infants, children and adolescents with congenital and acquired heart diseases and those with heart failure. The pediatric cardiac intensivist will work in close collaboration with pediatric surgeons, cardiologists, and critical care intensivists. The Section of Pediatric Critical Care has 13 full-time faculty members, a fully accredited fellowship program, and a 30 bed PICU/Step-down unit. The Section also runs the Pediatric Sedation and Palliative Care Services. We especially welcome applicants with previous leadership experience and VAD expertise. This position does not require teaching or scholarly activity.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, 3) be Board certified in Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Medicine, and 4) have cared for complex and critically ill patients during the past five years.
