A Postdoctoral Research Associate position is available for an outstanding and ambitious electrical engineer to undertake research in the field of dielectric liquid testing. Based in the Power and Energy Division, you will join the dielectric liquid research team to investigate partial discharge and creepage discharge phenomena in silicone oils. The project is supported by National Grid UK.
You will hold, or be about to obtain, a PhD in electrical power engineering or equivalent. Expertise in liquid testing is essential, and previous experience in the partial discharge and creepage discharge studies is highly desirable.
You should have proven ability to work independently, possess strong experimental skills, and be able to present results in an effective manner. You should be able to interact effectively with researchers from other disciplines and industrial partners. Good written and oral communication skills are also essential.
