Applications are invited for appointment as Research Assistant Professor (RAP)/Post-doctoral Fellow (PDF)/Research Officer (RO) in Community-Based Interventions and Training in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis for RAP/RO, or on a two-year temporary basis for PDF.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree by research or equivalent in public health, social sciences, or related disciplines, with at least 3 years’ experience in community-based research, public health research and population sciences research. They should have a strong background in community health promotion, and/or background/experience in the application of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) in research. They should also have the ability to work independently and in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team; the ability to work closely with external parties, including academics, social service groups, politicians, etc.; and excellent written and spoken communication skills. Those with relevant post-doctoral work experience and an excellent publication track record may be considered for appointment as RAP. The appointee will work for the Jockey Club SMART Family-Link Project, with the aims to promote family well-being by leveraging Information and Communications Technology for innovative family services. He/She will coordinate research design, oversee data collection and management, liaise with community parties and institutions to plan, develop and conduct community-based interventions and training programmes for local social service practitioners and professionals to facilitate the collection of big data, work closely with academic and research support staff in writing scientific publications and reports, supervise research staff members, and perform other duties as assigned. The appointee at the rank of RAP is also expected to take up a leading role to oversee the research team.
A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme totalling up to 15% of basic salary. For RO, housing benefits will also be provided as applicable.
