The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics is looking for a Lecturer in Information Technology.

The Faculty of Engineering, Environment and Computing at Coventry University is one of the largest in the UK, and is nationally and internationally renowned as a centre of innovation for its teaching, learning and research. The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics is one of three schools within the faculty and has a very successful suite of courses supported by excellent staff, teaching facilities and laboratories. The school is responsible for the development of a thriving portfolio of teaching and research. As such, we are looking for experienced academic staff who can underpin their teaching with research to support the overall vision of the University and help us to improve our growing reputation.
The School of Computing, Electronics and Mathematics offers undergraduate degrees in Information Technology for Business, Computer Science, Computing, Ethical Hacking and Cybersecurity, Games Technology and Multimedia Computing. Our postgraduate courses include Management of IS/IT, Data Science and Computational Intelligence, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Network and Forensic Computing.
As part of the expansion of our teaching team, we need a lecturer with skills in IT management and IT for business with programming skills for the MSc and BSc in the sector.
You will be responsible for the development, preparation and delivery of learning, teaching and assessment at undergraduate and postgraduate level, ensuring the teaching for which you are responsible is informed by contemporary research in the relevant field and develops the ability of students to engage in debate, critical discourse and rational thinking. With our extensive network of international partners, you will have the opportunity to work on international teaching and research projects.
With a PhD and appropriate professional qualification and/or membership, you will need to demonstrate teaching experience at higher education level with evidence of successful student learning outcomes. Experience of working on applied research projects or contracts, supported by evidence of contribution to appropriate outputs or experience of professional practice/consultancy will be beneficial.
You will need to share our passion for delivering a positive student experience that puts excellence in teaching and learning at the heart of everything you do and will be able to demonstrate significant knowledge of your area of specialisation.
