Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer (holding the title of Associate Director in Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (JCECC)) in the Faculty of Social Sciences, to commence on January 1, 2019 or as soon as possible thereafter, on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal.
Applicants should possess a good Master’s degree or above in Social Work, Mental Health, Psychology, Behavioral Health, Counselling, Management or related discipline, with at least 5 years’ solid experience in managing professionals and public education projects. Expert competence includes, but not limited to, family counselling, palliative care, use of play, use of therapeutic groups and bereavement care will be an advantage.
The appointee will work in the Jockey Club End-of-Life Community Care Project (JCECC) under the Faculty of Social Sciences. The project, started at 2015, aimed at improving the quality of end-of-life care, enhancing the capacity of service providers, as well as raising public awareness on life and death issues. The appointee is expected to lead a team of training officers and research officers in the project; perform administrative roles and prepare regular reports to the funder, collaborators and directors as well as perform other duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary.
