The University is seeking to recruit one new academic post in Computer Science, at Associate Professor level, to conduct quality research and lecturing on postgraduate and undergraduate programmes. Candidates will have a background in one of the following areas, corresponding to our main programmes: Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Computer Networks, Computer Games. Outstanding candidates specialised in other areas will still be considered.

Successful candidates will work closely with departmental academic teams and be expected to contribute to existing teaching and research.  The role has a strong emphasis on, and support for, research and enterprise activity, including participation in projects jointly launched by other members of the Department and Faculty.  Candidates will be expected to join one of our existing research teams relevant to their specialism.

You will be able to demonstrate a strong teaching and research profile, and a history of successful grant applications would be desirable. You will have a good first degree (1st or 2:1) in a relevant subject (computer science, mathematics or engineering), together with a PhD.
