EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT, Office of the Vice President for Resource Development, to directly support the vice president for resource development. Will manage the flow of work through the office by performing complex and diverse administrative duties and coordinating multiple programs/projects; use in-depth knowledge of the Institute and advancement to anticipate and initiate actions related to office operations; interpret and resolve highly varied situations and problems; and serve as an ambassador for Resource Development with MIT senior officers, academic leadership, colleagues, and external benefactors.
The Office of Resource Development is responsible for advancing the mission of MIT and supporting higher education by fostering relationships that result in continuing goodwill and financial support from alumni, friends, and organizations.
REQUIRED: a high school diploma or its equivalent; at least seven years’ related experience supporting a high-level executive; excellent written and oral communication skills and impeccable command of English spelling, punctuation, and grammar; demonstrated event management experience; proficiency with technology, especially that used for communication and project management; discretion and independent judgment; experience using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); and willingness to lend a hand at all times. Must be able to multitask, prioritize assignments, and meet deadlines without compromising quality; effectively organize oneself and others and “manage up;" work independently and as a team member; promote and foster a welcoming office environment for MIT’s many internal and external audiences; and work in a demanding, high-volume environment. Project coordination experience strongly desired. Experience with Adobe Creative Suite in a professional setting, familiarity with FileMaker Pro, a bachelor's degree, and experience in a higher education or nonprofit environment preferred.
