Join our team to support users of our laboratories and specialist facilities. We support academics, students and researchers in engineering disciplines such as aeronautics, materials testing, metrology, automotives and precision manufacturing.
You will be educated to HNC/HND or above in a relevant subject and / or have significant experience in a relevant food engineering field. Able to lead by example, you will be well organised and have a shared responsibility for local health and safety implementation. Some flexibility towards working hours is also required and you will be responsible for equipment maintenance in liaison with appropriate team members.
With excellent interpersonal and communication skills you will carry out training & demonstrating of equipment operation to staff, students and external collaborators in order to support undergraduate, postgraduate and research and consultancy projects.
You will be involved in the development of our National Centre of Excellence for Food Engineering, due to open in June 2019. When the new facility is complete, the majority of your time will be at the Attercliffe Road location next to the Olympic Legacy Park. The Centre supports the development of unique partnerships between manufacturers, specialist engineers, government and industry stakeholders, academics, researchers and scientists to meet the challenges in food and drink manufacturing with ground-breaking solutions.
