The University of Chicago's Department of Surgery, Section of Cardiac & Thoracic Surgery, is searching for full-time faculty members at any rank.

Applicants should have ability and interest in providing administrative and outreach effort associated with building a lung transplant program and background in cardiac or thoracic surgery. Other duties will include teaching and supervision of trainees and students, and scholarly activity. Academic rank and compensation (including a generous package of fringe
benefits) are dependent upon qualifications. We especially welcome applicants with research interest and a career trajectory in lung transplant research who can obtain permanent and unrestricted Illinois licensure.

Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois, and 3) be Board certified or eligible in American Board of Thoracic Surgery or equivalent certification.
