Position Description

We are seeking an interdisciplinary postdoctoral position to study the determinants of malaria virulence at Harvard Chan School funded by Burroughs Wellcome, co-advised by Professor Caroline Buckee (Dept of Epidemiology) and Professor Manoj Duraisingh (Dept of Immunology and Infectious Disease). The position would combine in vitro experiments in Dr. Duraisingh’s lab and mathematical models, developed in Dr. Buckee’s lab, to understand how red blood cell heterogeneity and dynamics influence the outcome of malaria infections.

Basic Qualifications

Qualifications are a PhD in molecular biology, health sciences, data science, malaria research or related disciplines; as well as good written and oral communication skills. Some experience with molecular biology is required, as well as a solid grounding in quantitative methods and programming.

Additional Qualifications

The ideal candidate should have lab experience and modeling skills, and be interested in the interface between theoretical models and experiments.
