BUSINESS INTELLIGENCE (BI) DEVELOPEROffice of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Controller, to participate in the full life cycle of BI platform development, including design, coding, testing, and production support.  Will be dedicated to implementing innovative data solutions to ingest and maintain MIT financial data used for reporting and analytics; engage in a range of analytical projects, ranging from migration to a new data environment to supporting VPF in staffing their strategic, financial, and operational analytical need; and work as a team member or lead for projects that may span a broad range of data-focused applications.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); at least three years’ related experience in or supporting financial/accounting function and at least seven building databases, datamarts, or data warehouses with structured querying language (SQL) across multiple platforms (preferably Microsoft, Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL); experience with ETL software (preferably Talend, Pentaho, SSIS, Informatica); experience with OLAP, visualization, and reporting software (preferably SSAS, SSRS, Tableau, Cognos, Business Objects); advanced Excel skills (modeling, PowerPivot, VBA); experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems; experience with data profiling, data quality, and master data management; detail-orientation; excellent problem identification/solving, interpersonal, and communication skills; ability to meet deadlines; self-motivation; and ability to work independently and as part of a team with a diverse group of colleagues from varying backgrounds in a complex, busy, changing environment. Membership in the Data Management Association and/or Data Warehousing Institute; programming experience with SQL, VB, and java; knowledge of statistics tools (R, Python, SAS, SPSS); and experience with Agile methodology and data governance and data vault design preferred.  Experience in higher education or nonprofit accounting a plus. Job #16657-Q
