This is an exciting opportunity to join a strategically important team. You will contribute to the Aston’s mission, exploitable research, employable graduates, by supporting the Careers+Placements Team’s key performance indicator of 100% placements by 2023, of which 35% will be based abroad.

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our busy but friendly team, to facilitate and support increasing numbers of students into placements in the UK and overseas. Reporting to the Placements Manager, you will have responsibility for day to day supervision of a small team and play a vital role in ensuring placement support services are efficient, effective, solution focused and adapt to changing circumstances for the Schools of study.

An important part of this role is Caseload Management to ensure students are placement-ready as well as the design and delivery of innovative student support, before and during the placement. For the right candidate with a genuine interest, the role will also involve acting as lead for the development and implementation of student welfare mechanisms and on-placement support. 

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will need to enjoy working under pressure, achieving targets and creative problem solving. With an outgoing personality, you will have experience in supervising and/or coaching colleagues; with a particular emphasis on motivating to achieve high performance standards. It is essential that you demonstrate a flexible and collaborative approach, as is the ability to manage unpredictability.
