Inventory Control Planner Intermediate

At Michigan Medicine, we are looking to hire an Inventory Control Planner to lead us in our conversion from a top up PAR replenishment model to a 2-Bin KANBAN system to improve the environment of care for patients and families. You will help lead a project team that communicates effective with clinical staff to review existing operations, discuss potential rearrangement of supplies to improve clinical work flow and product availability all while implementing the new inventory management design.
While you will routinely work with front line support and clerical staff, you will also present your work to senior leadership groups and full auditoriums. To prepare for these presentations you will need to quickly review and update inventory analyses. The groups you present to will vary, so each presentation needs to be tailored to meet their needs.
Converting this model has a focused timeline to meet the requirements of other institutional priorities. Unforeseen challenges may arise requiring you to quickly identify and make adjustments as needed. - You will lead a cross functional team of clinical and support staff
- You will develop and deliver presentations to a wide array of groups
- Apply supply chain mathematical concepts to usage and purchase data
- Analyze data for the purpose of informing strategy and decision-making for inventory management activities
- Analyze existing business processes and logic in the various functional areas within purchasing, inventory and warehouse operations through personal observation and user interaction
- Recommend workable method and procedural improvements based on supporting data and information
- You will oversee and assist with the building of clean room supply carts
- Demonstrate independent problem solving abilities
- Utilizes Microsoft business tools to complete tasks: Excel, Power Point, Word, and an electronic mail system (i.e. Outlook) in a network environment
- 2 or more years of experince.
- Utilizes strong written and oral communication skills including public speaking
- Proactive, attentive to detail, work with a sense of urgency and be able to overcome obstacles to meet schedule requirements
- Has excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work with people in all disciplines and at all levels of an organization through process and data knowledge
- Bachelor’s degree
- Supports the development and delivery of presentations through the use of PowerPoint and other applicable media
- Ability to figure out processes necessary to get things done
- Has the ability to synthesize information across multiple data sources
- Is well-organized, able to establish priorities, meet deadlines, manage multiple projects and function with minimal supervision
- Completes work with a high level of accuracy
- Utilizes experience in Healthcare or other Industry Supply Chain Operations
- Is familiar with inventory management processes and can apply knowledge base
This is a full-time, 40 hour/week position. Your schedule will typically be 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday. Scheduled meetings after hours and on the weekends will require your attendance.
