Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is one of the University of Manchester's cultural institutions and is dedicated to engaging audiences with the science and heritage of Jodrell Bank Observatory via its exhibitions, and programme of education, events and festivals.

The Finance Directorate are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic part time finance officer to support the team, based at Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre, to support our financial processes, reporting and analysis as the site enters an exciting period of development.

In this interesting and varied role you will deliver high quality finance support services in order to support the Centre’s ability to financially plan, manage and monitor budgetary performance.

This position would suit someone who has experience of financial processes within the cultural or higher education sector, who may already hold or be studying towards accountancy qualifications.

The successful candidate will be conscientious and attentive to detail, well organised and self-motivated. They will have excellent communication skills and have an ability to deal with a wide range of people. They will be an advanced user of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and be a flexible team player.

The Discovery Centre is rurally located, 20 miles south of Manchester, and applicants will need their own means of transportation in order to travel to and from work.
