Patient Care Technical Associate
Under direct supervision from Registered Nurse, provides direct patient care by performing delegated procedures of a specialized and technical nature, which include obtaining hemodynamic measurements, setting up and maintaining specialized clinical equipment and other delegated nursing procedures.
Assist patients with routine personal hygiene, including daily weights and patient nutrition and elimination.Observe, monitor and report the overt physical condition of assigned patients for level of comfort, vital signs within established parameters, and/or skin integrity. Document observations in accordance with established protocols on treatment and report results to nurse, as appropriate.Monitor, set-up and maintain the operations of clinical equipment such as bed scales, accuchecks, record intake and output and obtain necessary specimens as directed by registered nurse.Maintain patient care area and supplies in an organized manner. Stock totes/c-lockers: bring linen to the bedside daily. Assist with patient discharge and admitting activities.
Support the professional nurse in the delivery of patient comfort and convenience for the patients and families. Facilitate daily operations of the patient care unit.
Assisting unit manager/supervisor with activities, keeping hallways clear, maintaining unit inventory. Greeting patients and their family members on arrival to unit
High school diploma or equivalent is necessary. Six months of direct patient care experience in an acute care facility is necessary.Ability to work as part of a team. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently toward a shared goal.
Hours/Week: 32 hours weekShifts: Day/Eve 11am - 7pmHours: 8Hour daysWeekends: 2 out of 4
