Job Summary

Will perform single molecule experiment and data analysis. The candidate will also be responsible for training students on microscopy techniques.

Job Duties

  • Carry out single cell genomics experiments
  • Preparing cell cultures or working with a collaborator on obtaining tissues samples
  • Fixation of tissue samples
  • Hybridization of the tissue samples
  • Performing the sequential imaging experiments utilizing the automated fluidics
  • Adjusting lasers to optimize the illumination and ensuring the week long experiments are stable over time
  • After the experiments are completed, perform data analysis
  • Use Matlab and python to call out single molecules and align multiple images to generate barcodes
  • Segmentation of cells and determining expression profiles in individual cells
  • Cluster of the single cell data and generate cell types
  • Map cell types back onto space and generate spatial images
  • Training students on the experimental and computational techniques, one on one training and demonstration

Basic Qualifications

  • Master's Degree
  • Familiarity with single molecule microscopy, Matlab or python

Preferred Qualifications

  • Working experience with smFISH and single molecule imaging
  • Working experience with Genomics analysis
