Microbiology Faculty Position
The University of Chicago's Department of Microbiology in the Biological Sciences Division is searching for a tenured or tenure-track faculty member at any rank, and invites applications. We seek applicants pursuing research on any area of microbiology and related areas.

Appointees will have access to state-of-the-art core facilities and to outstanding colleagues and graduate students affiliated with numerous degree-granting programs within and outside the biological sciences. Competitive research space and start-up funding will be available, as will the potential for interactions with our affiliates, Argonne National Laboratory and the Marine Biological Laboratory.
The successful candidate would also have opportunities to interface with the Microbiome Center, comprising faculty from 30 different departments at The University of Chicago, as well as the Physical Sciences Division and the Institute for Molecular Engineering. The Department offers access to gnotobiotic animal research, flow cytometry, high-throughput genomics and biocontainment facilities. In collaboration with the Duchossois Family Institute (https://tinyurl.com/y7392n78), investigators will have additional access to biorepository, metabolomics, medicinal chemistry, single-cell genomics facilities, and informatics resources including large-scale data integration and analytics.
The successful candidate will become a member of the Committee on Microbiology, and, if appropriate, of other Committees in the Biological Sciences Division (https://tinyurl.com/ybfczsbs), which focus on graduate education. The position provides the opportunity to teach outstanding graduate and medical students with strong interests in microbiology and medical sciences as well as exceptional undergraduate students in The College at The University of Chicago.
