We are looking for an experienced teacher educator to contribute to our initial teacher education programmes for the post-14 sector.
UCLan has an extensive Teacher Education partnership across fourteen FE colleges in the North West, and you will be part of a small team working on the development, quality assurance and administration of partner college-based PGCE and Certificate in Education programmes (post-compulsory). Key aspects of the role will be working with partner colleges preparing for Ofsted inspection and planning staff development for partner staff. The ability to lead the Maths/numeracy teaching awards would be an advantage. The role also involves contributing to teaching, administration and research in the field of education and professional development, with possible involvement in international projects.
The post is an exciting career development opportunity for someone committed to developing excellence in teaching and learning. Successful experience of teaching and assessment at undergraduate and post graduate levels on nationally recognised teacher training programmes within FE or HE, including the assessment of teaching practice, is essential, as is experience of quality enhancement and Ofsted inspections. Experience in maths teaching or teacher training would be an advantage. The successful applicant will have a teaching qualification for the compulsory (schools) or post compulsory sector (Certificate in Education / PGCE) and have outstanding interpersonal skills along with excellent teaching and communication skills.
