The School wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Medical Statistics to lead and contribute to course management, course delivery and course development in this area and to undertake related research and knowledge transfer activities.
Working within a committed and enthusiastic team you will focus primarily on programmes in the School of Medicine including the MBBS, the BSc (Hons) and Foundation Medical Sciences programme, and the PGDip Physician Associates programme. You will contribute to the areas of course delivery and assessment in Medical Statistics within the School of Medicine and also take on the role of Deputy Lead for Admissions. You will assist in the further development of the Mackenzie Institute of Clinical Research and the CTU within the University. You will also undertake income generation, research and knowledge transfer through relevant activities and undertake specific course leader responsibilities in related programmes.
You will hold a PhD in Medical Statistics or a relevant subject area with a substantial statistical element.
Experience of using and teaching the use of basic statistical packages is essential, along with experience of producing high quality graphical data displays. You will have a commitment to continued professional development and of the University's strategy and values.
You must possess excellent communication skills; have an ability to work within a multidisciplinary team and maintain good working relationships with other healthcare professions and NHS partners. As a self-motivated, self-reliant and proactive individual, you will have the ability to independently prepare clear and detailed analytics protocols and to identify new opportunities and develop creative solutions.

Basis: Fixed term contract for 12 months, or sooner upon the return of the substantive post holder
