Senior Coordinator, Orientation and Transition

  • Form close partnerships with key stakeholders to drive orientation programs and transition initiatives across La Trobe University’s many campuses
  • Full time, continuing role based at the Melbourne (Bundoora) campus
  • $92,830 - $106,409  per annum plus up to 17% superannuation

 About the role

The Senior Coordinator, Orientation and Transition will report to the Senior Manager, Transition and Success and will support the implementation of the La Trobe University 2018 – 2022 Strategic plan. The primary function of this role involves working with students, the Colleges and relevant stakeholders to deliver targeted and informed programs, initiatives and resources that support the early and ongoing transition of students into the University learning environment, irrespective of pathway, study mode or point of entry.

This position is responsible for the successful delivery of initiatives and programs in the Orientation and Transition portfolio across all La Trobe University campuses and the incumbent will be required to travel to the regional campuses from time to time or as directed.

Skills & Experience

To be successful in this role, the ideal candidate will have:

  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and managing targeted orientation and transition-related programs, activities and events within the higher education sector
  • Strong interpersonal skills including ability to negotiate, motivate, influence and build solid, collaborative relationships.
  • Demonstrated management and leadership skills with successful experience in managing and leading staff that are brought together to achieve differing goals;
  • A relevant degree with substantial extension of the theories and principles, learned through experience; or a range of management experience working in a higher education setting.
