ACCOUNTS PAYABLE MANAGEROffice of the Vice President for Finance (VPF)-Financial Operations, to be responsible for the direction and overall management of MIT’s accounts payable (AP) and vendor maintenance team. Will drive the reporting, compliance, analysis, and control of accounting and financial functions of the AP area, including state and federal filings and general ledger accounts; ensure the AP and vendor maintenance team’s ability to analyze and resolve accounting discrepancies and timely resolution of issues; assist with the reconciliation process; and oversee the development and maintenance of an effective team dedicated to providing excellent customer service to the MIT community while communicating complex issues effectively to a diverse and demanding customer base.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED:  bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration, or related field; at least seven years’ financial management experience that includes at least five in accounts payable administration and at least two providing customer service in some capacity; management experience; experience with Coupa and SAP or an equivalent ERP system; experience in a high-volume accounts payable environment; strong analysis and organizational skills; detail orientation; ability to work independently with little instruction and as part of a team; advanced-level Excel skills; and outstanding interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.  The role requires a keen awareness of the team’s impact on other functional areas and an eye for ongoing process improvement.  Must be flexible and adaptable to new programs in an emerging and changing environment.  Experience working with cloud-based systems preferred, as is experience in higher education or a nonprofit environment.
