SENIOR POLICY AND COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE, Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab (J-PAL), to contribute to J-PAL’s mission of reducing poverty by ensuring that policy is informed by scientific evidence. The primary responsibilities performed will include policy synthesis, writing, the creation of content, policy outreach to disseminate J-PAL’s research, and stakeholder engagement. Will report to the policy and communications manager.
REQUIRED: a bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business administration, public policy, or economics; four years of relevant professional experience; exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including a clear command of the English language and an understanding of how to craft a story to communicate a message; close attention to detail, accuracy, and thoroughness; ability to ask the right questions to gather pertinent information; strong project management and organizational skills; ability to work on several projects at once and to plan, prioritize, and meet tight deadlines. Strong candidates will have a demonstrated ability to accurately interpret scientific research and an understanding of how to utilize appropriate communications platforms to reach target audiences. The ideal candidate has marketing and communications experience related to social policy or international development, is analytical, has a strong interest in J-PAL’s mission, and thrives when challenged to develop new ideas and approaches to meeting organizational goals. The ideal candidate has experience in marketing and communications related to social policy or international development, is creative and analytical, and has a strong interest in J-PAL’s mission.
This is a temporary, one-year appointment.
