The Role

Macquarie University is seeking a Lecturer with experience and scholarly knowledge of early childhood science and technology. The successful applicant will be expected to develop, teach and convene units in the area of early childhood science and technology at a postgraduate and undergraduate level, while supervising Higher Degree Research students and conducting and collaborating on research projects.

The successful applicant will also be expected to make an active contribution to the administration of the Department, Faculty and University.

Your PhD will have been completed within a discipline that is relevant to this area of early childhood. You will demonstrate innovative and impactful approaches to teaching in both the classroom and online learning environments.

  • A PhD or evidence of equivalent research recognition in the field of early childhood science and technology
  • A well-articulated research agenda and a track record of good quality publications relevant to stage of career
  • Demonstrated academic knowledge of early childhood science and technology and a commitment and capability to deliver high quality learning and teaching, including the design, delivery, and management of lectures, tutorials, and assessment
  • Excellent communication skills, with an ability to relate to staff and students from all backgrounds and to represent the Department to external stakeholders and the general public
  • Demonstrated experience to make a useful contribution to the academic life and administrative tasks of the Department with a track record of effective team work
