Grade 6 - £27,025 to £33,199 dependent on experience (fixed term until 31/07/19)
The need to establish strong and effective links with schools and colleges both locally and on a wider national basis underpins the work of the School and College Engagement Team and is essential in supporting the University achieve its recruitment aspirations both in the short and long term.
You will be working as one of five Senior Schools and College Engagement Officers responsible for co-ordinating the relationships with school and colleges locally and within designated geographic regions delivering engagement activities that meet the needs and objectives of each faculty and wider University with a specific focus on the Faculty of Science, Technology and Arts (STA).
You will also be responsible for leading and motivating a team of staff delivering engagement activity both in schools and colleges and within the University, whilst also identifying opportunities for maintaining and growing institutional engagement with targeted feeder institutions. You will be responsible for working with colleagues from across the institution (and in particular within Professional Services) to develop an offer for schools and colleges that is innovative, effective and fit for purpose ensuring it meets both the institution's recruitment and widening participation objectives.
Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to raising the aspirations, awareness and highlighting opportunities available at University to prospective students and key influencers such as teacher, advisors and parents/carers. They will also be excellent communicators, and are confident speaking to small and large groups of students and with senior staff from a schools or colleges.
You will also be able and are willing to work occasional evenings and are able to independently travel around the country as required. NB: applicants will be provided hire cars to fulfil the requirements of the role which will require occasionally driving at night and motorways.
