The Finance department at the University of Surrey is seeking an enthusiastic and technically-minded individual to join their Finance Systems team. This newly created position offers the opportunity for you to develop your finance and IT skills whilst working in a small team to help deliver significant business improvements.

The Finance Systems team sits within the Finance department at the University of Surrey and is responsible for the maintenance and development of the University’s financial IT applications. The primary finance system is Unit4’s Business World (Agresso) which provides c. 200 users with access to the financial ledgers; purchasing; asset management; project costing & billing; and research costing & pricing functionality as well as all staff with access to claim expenses.

In support of the department’s strategy towards improved reporting, Finance Systems has recently championed the introduction of Oracle’s OBIEE; a Business Intelligence (BI) tool which now makes the University’s financial data available in the form of interactive dashboards and reports.

Having recently upgraded Agresso to the latest available version and implemented BI, this is an exciting time to join the team as we explore the new opportunities which are now available. By working closely with all members of the team you will help us deliver the best possible service to our colleagues throughout the University.

Training will be provided on how our systems have been configured and how key processes operate throughout the department which will enable you to contribute to system improvements in line with the department strategy. You must have strong communication skills, a proactive approach to problem solving and be ready to learn new skills such as IT configuration management, data management and reporting.
