At Aston ME+D we are planning to undergo new development to support our research and teaching activities as we move forward into a period of significant growth.

This new role would involve developing a range of mechanical engineering-related activities hosted within ME+D but which would reach out to other strengths within the School. Relevant areas include: biomedical engineering and materials, photonics and sensors, sustainable energy and water, engineering systems and management, manufacturing and data analytics.

To assist staff in achieving their research ambitions, Aston University has a very strong research support team well experienced in supporting academic staff secure grants through Research Councils, EU, Innovate-UK and a range of other routes.

We have strong recruitment into our taught programmes and are a lead player in the worldwide CDIO initiative to develop industry-ready project designers and engineers. This is a highly demanding and effective teaching strategy which marks us out as a group at the very forefront of engineering education.

A highly attractive package will be offered for the right candidate to ensure they can find a supportive environment capable of matching their ambition for their future and the development of the group. Informal enquires can be made in the first instance to the Head of Mechanical Engineering + Design, Dr Laura Leslie (email, Tel. +44[0]121 204 3747).
