Aston University are seeking to appoint an aspiring individual who is keen to develop, lead and collaborate in research in areas centred on mechanical engineering.
At Aston ME+D we are planning to undergo new development to support our research and teaching activities as we move forward into a period of significant growth.
This new role would involve developing a range of mechanical engineering-related activities hosted within ME+D but which would reach out to other strengths within the School. Relevant areas include: biomedical engineering and materials, photonics and sensors, sustainable energy and water, engineering systems and management, manufacturing and data analytics.
To assist staff in achieving their research ambitions, Aston University has a very strong research support team well experienced in supporting academic staff secure grants through Research Councils, EU, Innovate-UK and a range of other routes.
We have strong recruitment into our taught programmes and are a lead player in the worldwide CDIO initiative to develop industry-ready project designers and engineers. This is a highly demanding and effective teaching strategy which marks us out as a group at the very forefront of engineering education.
