RMIT is reactivating the Capitol Theatre and transforming it for future generations - providing a centre for innovative tertiary and vocational education, as well as a cultural landmark and creative space for Melbourne. Designed by Walter Burley and Marion Mahoney Griffin, the Capitol Theatre was once the city's hub for a thriving entertainment and arts scene, and has remained a beloved and treasured landmark of Melbourne.
The Capitol Theatre is directly linked to RMIT's Media Precinct which boasts state-of-the-art technology and industry-leading broadcast facilities across the Media Portal, Media Street and Studios that enable a unique student experience by combining real-world outcomes with state-of-the-art facilities.
The Role and Your Responsibilities
The Creative Producer, Screen and Media is responsible for overseeing the delivery of a range of public engagement outcomes across screen and media. The role will conceive and deliver a compelling program of events and activity that brings together the RMIT community, the creative and education sectors, industry and community stakeholders.
Skills & Experience Required
The Creative Producer, Screen and Media is a content specialist with a proven track record in producing screen and media based programming. You will have strong business acumen, highly developed influencing and negotiation skills and a proven ability to develop networks and build collaborative relationships. Working alongside teaching and research colleagues, you will play a key role in devising innovative student experience and impact outcomes.
You will be a confident presenter and expert in your area of specialisation, with the ability to contribute to a range of contexts and build partnerships throughout the creative and allied sectors. Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, including the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary environment, will be necessary for success in this role.
