We are seeking to appoint an outstanding scholar and or practitioner to our Communication Design team. You will have scholarly outputs that can contribute to our REF submission and an emerging international reputation in an area that will complement our existing expertise and show the potential to contribute to inter-disciplinary research addressing complex societal challenges. Our academic team have research expertise in Strategic Design Approaches, Human Computer Interaction, Data Visualisation, Visual Arts, Digital Civics, Digital Literacies, Design Fiction and Storytelling. 

Northumbria University has an international reputation for design research and innovation. Our staff have pioneered original approaches for evolving design research practices, especially emerging technologies and craft, co-creation and participatory design, and responsible innovation.

Contributing a high level of creative expertise across the Communication Design undergraduate and postgraduate related programmes, you will be an inspirational teacher who can work effectively in a team. You will be committed to the development and enhancement of the School’s research agenda and global reputation. You will also actively contribute to maintaining existing and forging new links with industry, external organisations and the education sector in the UK and internationally.
