Leeds Arts University is the only specialist arts university in the North of England. We have contributed significantly to the development of arts education for over 170 years, and have developed a national and international reputation based on the achievements of our students and staff. 

Based primarily at the University’s Blenheim Walk site, the role involves working as a member of the technical support team, with a variety of responsibilities depending on individual skillset including instructing groups of students in safe, appropriate and professional operation of a range of digital and film equipment in the photographic lighting studios, as required by course and programme curriculum. Duties include setting up the studio spaces and preparing session materials, planning and delivering inductions and workshops providing on-to-one student support, assisting in the production of learning and eLearning materials and loaning out photographic equipment, all with an emphasis on high levels of customer care.

Applicants should be aware that this role involves some flexibility in working hours that will include evenings and weekends when required and working at the Vernon Street City Centre site.

The successful applicant should have a degree in a relevant subject or have equivalent industrial experience, have a sound knowledge and understanding of DSLR Cameras and lenses, studio and location flash lighting, RAW workflow, digital medium format, Lightroom or/and CaptureOne Software. A sound of relevant health and safety in this environment is also essential. Experience of set building and assisting/instructing students is desirable.
