The University invites applications for a Research Associate post working in the Institute of Population Health.This is an exciting opportunity to join a team working on a Department of Health and Social Care funded Policy Research Programme project: Evaluating the New Care Models (Vanguards) support programme: ‘New Care Models - Vanguards in England’.
This is a large scale, multi-site study, working with teams from the Centre for Health Services Studies, University of Kent and from the Department of Health Services Research and Policy, London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. The successful candidate will be aligned with the Health Policy, Politics and Organisations team within the Centre for Primary Care (CPC) but will have opportunities to develop links with colleagues from the wider project team and within CPC.
You will work closely with Dr Anna Coleman, Prof Kath Checkland and others at the University of Manchester to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the project. The post will be under the line management of Dr Coleman. The contract of employment will be held by, and the post will be located at, the University of Manchester.
As part of the Vanguard programme, a comprehensive programme of evaluation was established, comprising:
- The commissioning of local evaluations for all Vanguard sites;
- National monitoring of a suite of core metrics;
- The establishment of a national Health Data Lab to provide Vanguards with access to comparative data on their performance;
- The commissioning of an independent national evaluation.
- We were commissioned by the Department of Health and Social Care Policy Research Programme to carry out the independent national evaluation. The study began in June 2017, and is funded until May 2021.
