An enthusiastic IT experienced science or medical writer is required to assist the many patient and health professional communications emanating from the National Aspergillosis Centre (NAC) at MFT-Wythenshawe, working with senior University staff. These include contributions to Manchester Fungal Infection Group webpage, The Aspergillus Website, LIFE-worldwide, Aspergillosis for Patients, microfungi.net (microscopy course on line), as well as departmental websites. Regular blogs and news items are written and issued on all things fungal. An ability to synthesise the guts of a publication, and make it accessible to non-scientists is a particular skill required.
The NAC comms team are also very active in involving patients in research, patient support and awareness via written, face-to-face, video communication and social media so interpersonal skills are essential.
