Job Summary

Scientist to undertake laboratory and field work and analysis in support of NASA’s Tropospheric Chemistry Program.

Job Duties

  • Assist in the calibration and deployment of advanced instrumentation for atmospheric composition measurements
  • Perform analyses of these data to improve our understanding of atmospheric photochemistry
  • Extensive field work including flying on research aircraft, possible international travel
  • Assist the PI in development of proposals for atmospheric chemistry research
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications

  • B.S. in atmospheric science, environmental engineering, chemistry, or another related field
  • Ability to work independently and as a team member

Preferred Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in atmospheric science, environmental engineering, chemistry, or another related field
  • 3 or more years of experience operating mass spectrometers
  • Field work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
