Job purpose

We are looking for highly motivated, outstanding scientists and active researchers who are equipped with the ability to create a difference. Responsibilities include writing proposals for funding, acquiring grants, engaging in scholarly activities, teaching and working on programs accreditation.

Duties 

The  Engineering Mechanics Program invites applications for Assistant and/or Associate Professor Positions at our campus in ـJeddah, Saudi Arabia. 

Faculty members have a strong commitment to teaching, research, and service. The program benefits from state-of-the-art facilities and instrumentation in support of its key educational and research missions.

The faculty have established strong educational and research programs on a foundation of core engineering disciplines.

The program continues to be refreshed in terms of its curriculum and research to meet local and global needs. 

His responsibilities in research are establishing own area of independent research as appropriate to the work of the Department/School, ensuring a commitment to the highest standards of ethics and integrity in research, participating in collaborative research projects as appropriate to the discipline, and Identifying sources of funding and secure funding for own research program.

Key selection criteria

  • A PhD in mechanical or electrical engineering, physics, or related fields. 
  • Demonstrated ability to fabricate MEMS/NEMS devices at the cleanroom and/or conduct mechanical, electrical, and optical characterization of MEMS and NEMS devices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to model devices analytically and/or using finite element techniques. 
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively. 
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
