The Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology (FEIT) is making a significant investment to recruit academic leaders in key areas which build on the University strength as a leader in technology-orientated research.

In the Times Higher Education World University Rankings by subject, UTS is ranked 83rd for Computer Science.

The Professor of Data Visualisation is part of a UTS wide initiative that aims to establish new technical and conceptual approaches to understanding and engaging with data. UTS has made significant strategic investment in this area (UTS Data Arena: on the inside), reflecting its belief that cross-disciplinary innovation in data visualisation is required to bring insights into the analysis of data. This appointment will provide leadership by creating an interdisciplinary research team, bringing together researchers across the University with a focus on data visualisation.

The University is seeking:

  • International profile and expertise in the area of data visualisation
  • A demonstrated capacity to provide leadership and establish a team which brings together researchers/practitioners from a range of disciplines
  • Established record of research as evidenced by publications in top ranking journals and conferences and a clear strategy and vision for leading and carrying out world-class research
  • High level academic/leader (Professor/Associate Professor) and professional qualifications (PhD) in a relevant discipline area.               

Salary Range: A competitive remuneration package will be negotiated depending upon experience.
