Executive Director, J-Clinic
EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, J-CLINIC, School of Engineering-Abdul Latif Jameel Clinic for Machine Learning in Health (J-Clinic), to assume broad responsibility for planning, shaping, directing, and executing the public relations and marketing/communications efforts of a complex, multidisciplinary structure. The J-Clinic aims to revolutionize disease prevention, detection, and treatment. Its core mission is to incubate research at the intersection of computer science, big data, and the life sciences and to drive the creation and commercialization of high-precision, affordable, and scalable machine-learning technologies to health care. Will lead the development of productive research collaborations and long-term vision and goals; initiate periodic calls for proposals and work with the faculty co-leads to review submissions, select recipients, and administer grants; conduct outreach to position J-Clinic internationally and within MIT; and deliver on J-Clinic’s operations and sustainability goals. Will report to and work closely with the faculty co-leads.
REQUIRED: an undergraduate degree; at least ten years’ relevant experience, including experience managing partnership models, building successful relationships with companies and/or institutions, or other relevant roles; and management experience, including evidence of forming and managing effective and efficient teams. An MBA/M.S. degree is highly-desired, along with a background in or familiarity with a technical, engineering, or scientific field. Experience with or familiarity with academic institutions and the biotech, pharmaceutical, or healthcare industries preferred.
