Assistant Professor in Public Health

Applications are invited for appointment as Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the School of Public Health, to commence as soon as possible on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and with consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.
Applicants should possess a Master of Public Health degree and a Ph.D. degree, with the specialty in applying cutting edge epidemiologic methodology and statistical methods to the analysis of global health trends and issues. They should have at least 5 years' post-doctoral training with a strong track record of research publications. They should also be highly conversant in contemporary issues in global health/development, and be prepared to teach in an interdisciplinary and multicultural environment. The appointee will take a leading role in managing and teaching the new interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Global Health and Development programme, and contribute to the established strengths of the School in developing and advancing research programmes in global health and public health. He/She will also be responsible for research planning and implementation; supervision of research staff and postgraduate students; and development of his/her own research programme. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
