FINANCIAL COORDINATOR, Picower Institute for Learning and Memory, to be responsible for coordinating financial activities and sponsored program administration for a dynamic neuroscience research center. Will serve as both pre- and post-award grant administrator for sponsored research accounts and fellowships, including developing and preparing budgets/proposals for submission to sponsors, prior approvals, contract/program compliance, sponsor policy and procedures, financial reports, subcontracting arrangements, account reconciliation, and monthly long-range planning and projections; maintain faculty “other support”; monitor payroll distribution, certification, and vacation tracking; authorize procurement transactions, including credit card, requisitions, and travel; mentor and train financial assistants in the use of SAP, account reconciliation, and preparation of forecasts and overviews; act as a resource for support staff and faculty; provide financial training for administrative staff, support staff, and lab personnel as needed; and perform other duties as directed.

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least three years of experience in accounting or finance, preferably with pre- and post-award accounting; high-level proficiency with Excel and other MS Office products; customer service orientation; meticulous attention to detail; strong organizational, project management, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills; and the ability to prioritize, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and meet deadlines. Relational database skills and experience with Brio Query and/or Cognos strongly preferred. Experience in an academic research environment with emphasis on sponsored research and knowledge of SAP or similar accounting package also preferred. MIT experience is highly desirable.
